Batch Ticket Verification

ASTM C94 Cl. 11 — Verify all mandatory batch ticket fields and check ingredient quantities against the design mix

Actual Batch Ticket Quantities

Total batch quantity (design × volume)
ASTM C94 Cl. 10.4: site water must be recorded

📋 Batch Ticket Verification Report

ASTM C94 Cl. 11 — Mandatory Batch Ticket Information: Every load of RMC must carry a delivery ticket including: plant name and batch number, date and time of batching, truck number, mix design ID, amount of concrete, aggregate quantities (SSD basis), cement content, water added at plant, admixture quantities, w/c ratio, design compressive strength, and design slump. Drum Revolution Counter & Mixing Compliance

ASTM C94 Cl. 9 — Drum revolution limits for transit-mixed concrete: 70–100 revolutions at mixing speed; max 300 total before discharge
ASTM C94 Cl. 9.3.3: 70–100 rev. at mixing speed required
Typically 2–6 RPM agitating speed during transit
ASTM C94 Cl. 9.3.1: max 300 total before discharge

📌 ASTM C94 Cl. 9 — Drum Revolution Requirements

  • Minimum mixing revolutions: 70 at mixing speed (Cl. 9.3.3)
  • Maximum mixing revolutions: 100 at mixing speed before discharge (Cl. 9.3.3)
  • Absolute maximum total revolutions: 300 (any speed) before discharge — this limit exists to prevent over-working and degradation of concrete (Cl. 9.3.1)
  • Speed definitions (Cl. 9.1): Mixing speed ≥ 6 RPM (manufacturer's rated speed); agitating speed 2–6 RPM for transport
  • Counter certification: Revolution counter must be calibrated per ASTM C94 Annex A requirements

⏳
Discharge Time Compliance

ASTM C94 Cl. 11.8 — Discharge must be completed within 90 minutes OR 300 drum revolutions of water contact, whichever comes first
First water contact — batching plant
ACI 305R: high temperature shortens working life; consider reducing limit to 60 min if T > 32°C
Override with project spec limit if more restrictive

ASTM C94 Cl. 11.8 — Discharge Time Rule: Concrete must be discharged before either (a) 90 minutes or (b) 300 drum revolutions — whichever limit is reached first. In hot weather or with accelerating admixtures, the project specification may impose a more restrictive time limit. Under no circumstances shall concrete be used after 300 drum revolutions regardless of elapsed time.

⚠️ ASTM C94 Cl. 10.4 — Site Water Addition Rules: (1) Water addition is ONLY permitted before discharge begins. (2) The quantity added must NOT cause the w/c ratio to exceed the design maximum. (3) After water addition, the drum must be turned a minimum of 30 revolutions at mixing speed before discharge. (4) All site water additions must be recorded on the delivery ticket. (5) The inspector or engineer must authorize site water addition — it is NOT a batching plant decision.

—
ASTM C94 Yield Tolerance (Cl. 14): The actual yield shall not be less than 98% or more than 102% of the design batch volume. Yield below 98% means the customer is receiving less concrete than ordered and paid for — a commercial as well as quality issue. Yield above 102% indicates under-batching of cementitious content per unit volume, potentially reducing strength and durability.
